The DVSA recommend having around 65 hours of driving lessons to get to test standard.
Most of our pupils get to driving test standard between 25-45 hours,
however although those hours are a rough guide the truth of the matter
The driving test is a practical test – it is a test of whether you can drive on your own for 40 minutes, without breaking the speed limit, and doing EVERYTHING that your driving instructor has told you to do.
The most common excuse we hear is “Its ok I wont do this on my test”
WELL I’M SORRY – BUT YOU WILL!! – THE WAY YOU DRIVE IS THE WAY YOU DRIVE! Nobody says “It’s ok its not my driving test, so I will just mount the kerb” NOBODY says “Its ok its not my test, so I will turn right at the roundabout from the left lane”!! You drive how you drive!
Judge and Analyze Your Driving
When it comes to your driving lessons, is your driving instructor still writing down faults on your progress card or on his IPad? Is he still talking you through the mistakes that you’ve made – Like staying in lane on roundabouts or not turning right from the left lane??
If he is you can know, that you’re not at test standard.
This is why you are still having lessons
The Brutal Truth
Above all else – if you driving instructor has repeatedly told you the same thing – You cant turn right from the left lane unless the road marking allow it – He’s analyzed it and showed the pictures of it and explained it until he’s blue in the face
And more importantly YOU CAN EXPLAIN IT TO HIM — then, is it really his fault that you are not ready for test???
WE CAN ONLY TEACH YOU IT AND MAKE YOU UNDERSTAND IT — WE CAN’T MAKE YOU DO IT
THE QUICKER YOU DO IT – THE QUICKER YOU GET TO TEST
