Automatic cars differ from manual for the fact that there is no clutch pedal to operate. The left foot should not be used at all. The right foot is used to operate the accelerator (gas) pedal and the brake pedal.
Automatic cars are a popular choice for learners who find it difficult to get used to the gears and clutch when driving a manual car. It is also classed as a better option for the older and disabled learner drivers.
Considering learning to drive in an automatic should not be looked upon as being an easier way to pass the test – many believe that it is and this is not the case. It will take the same length of time and their are no short cuts to passing a driving test. It is always recommended that manual lessons are taken initially. We offer evaluations to those that believe that they cannot drive a manual –
If you pass your driving test in an automatic then you are not permitted to drive a manual and would have to take the learner test again in a manual if you wish to drive one. IT IS BETTER TO PASS IN A MANUAL this way you can drive both.
